ReconciliationReconcilliation applies to doing away with an enmity, bridging over a quarrel. This means that the parties involved were formerly hostile to each other. Turning to the Bible we find that sinners are the "enemies" of God. "10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. " "21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled" "4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."The enemy is not a person who just comes short of a friend, they are totally in opposition to you. The New Testament shows that God is in total opposition to anything and everything that is evil. To overcome the enmity we must take away the cause of the quarrel, we must make any payment required, and anything else required to repatriate the cause of the disagreement.
The Love of God towards man never can vary, no matter what man does, but the whole of the atoning work (to cover over the sins) is cover by the love of God, "8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. " The point is that basically Jesus Christ reconciled the man outside of the person before anything happened to the inner thoughts and behaviour of a man, "11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement." Jesus Christ died to put away our sin. God needed a sinless person to take the place of man and so die as punishment, which Jesus did, but God through Love just did not mean one man but all men, the world. It was not automatically applied, man had to admit that they were sinners and then ask to be forgiven through the death of Jesus. This action has allowed man to come back to God, it is this which we describe by the word "Reconciliation" Unfortunately, there are men who have rejected the offer, do not be one of them. We must note that no where in the Bible does it speaks of Jesus as being reconciled to man, it always puts the stress upon man being reconciled to God, this is important as it was the rejection of man which caused the problem in the first place, it was therefore the sin of man which had to be dealt with, "18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; Man is not at least worried by sin, he is happy to let bygones be bygones. It has to be this way or man will have to be involved with the punishment that God has prepared for the angelic being, under Satan, which He prepared many years ago, reconcilliation has removed any chance of those of man who have chosen to accept the gift to be protected from the "Wrath of God." Verses which scripture shows the reconcilliation of God to man."20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.Romans 11: 15. "15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?" "18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; "10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. "12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: |
