"I AM" |
The Name of God.God reveals His Name first to Moses, I AM, the name expresses the nature and actions of God, He has always existed and time has not effect or mean anything to Him. This indicates, by the name, that He was the absolute God, who can act and has ability which cannot be exceeded, a Divine Being which controls all things. Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. Because Jesus used the name, the religious leaders said He was blaspheming because by using the name he was claiming to be God. New Testament records of Jesus using this title.John 6:35; "I am the Bread of Life. He that cometh to Me shall never hunger, and he that believeth in Me shall never thirst." John 8:12; "I am the Light of the world. He that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 10:7-9; "Verily, verily I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep." John 10:11-14;" I am the door; by Me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture." John 11:25-26; "I am the Resurrection and the Life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live;" John 14:6; "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me." John 15:1,5; "1 I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman." Revelation 1:18 "I am He that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death." |
