The Rewards given in Heaven .

What will be your future?, yes, all people on the earth will have a life which will last forever, everlasting life, but the point is where will you be spending that time of eternity, there are only two places, in heaven with Jesus and God or eternity with Satan in the Lake of fire, a place of eternal punishment, those who are going there are those who have rejected the offer of forgiveness through the death of Jesus Christ.

Where will you be?

I am going to assume that you will be one of those who will be going to heaven. So, what will happen there?
Well there is the Judgement seat of Jesus we will all have to stand before, this is where we will all have to tell Jesus the truth about how we spent our life on the earth, what we did with the time that we all had after being forgiven through the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary, our "Works"
Hang on you might say I did not think that what we did apart for asking for forgiveness through Jesus was involved in our salvation. Well that is right except after you have been forgiven, God is very interested in how you spent your time. Works is now very important. 2 Corinthians 5:10

"10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

Ephesians 2:8,9

"8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Our works do not give us a place in heaven, but they do give us the ability to obtaining a "thank you" reward for how you spent your forgiven life.

Did you spend your life in obtaining a position of power, of authority but none of this was for the benefit of Jesus or God, that could be burnt up.

During the times of the Bible there were many people in the church who spent their time of judging other believers, they were examining what they wear, what they eat, what they did in their life,
Paul sent a warning not to waste their time,
Romans 14:7-13.

"7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way."

So, as a true Believers we will all have to stand before Jesus the Christ to reveal our works for Him since we became True Believers. We are to be judged by Him on our attitude to our forgiveness and what He did to us.
We are to be constructors in our work,
1 Corinthians 3:9-16.

"9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?"

v11 Our foundation has to be set in the word of Jesus, without Him we will be totally lost. So what kind of "house" are we building, one which is built on the use of power and position will probably be made of straw and so be burnt by Jesus at the judgement, verse 13. Only if we are using this for God will it become jewels and riches.

Verse 14 and verse 15, "if any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. " We are told that some could receive one or more crowns for there actions for God. Only He knows what they are. Note verse 15, " If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire. " To put it simply the believer is saved by "the skin of there teeth", they might smell of smoke a little.

1 Corinthians 4:4,5

"4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.
5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God."

God cares about our motives for our behaviour,
1 Corinthians 9:24-27.

"24 Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

We must not be distracted by what is going on around us, we are in a race and we should be looking for the "finish line" in the presence of Jesus

2 Corinthians 5:9,10
"9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad."

We should all be looking for the personal reward of Jesus saying "Well done my good and faithful servant."

Not standing in shame when He returns for us. 1 John 2:27-29.

"27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him."

2 Corinthians 5:10

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
