We will look at the sentence "I Will," as given by Jesus while He was on the earth, with each one having a special meaning to each of us.
The "I Will" of rest.
Matthew 11:28-30.
"28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
We all want to rest,no one on earth does not want rest. Jesus told us of a rich man who after collecting his harvest and then decided to build new bigger barns because he was so successfull, then rest. But God said "Today your life will be required," and he died.
It is not coming to a new belief or attending a diferrent church will give you peace, but to come to Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness through Him, you are coming to a personal Saviour who can give you the peace and rest of your soul.
The "I Will" of peace
Let us look at John 14:27, there we find a wonderful promise.
"27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." "
Jesus continues, that He was about to leave the world and said,
"18 I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you."
Many peoplefrom the world look to the "world " for their peace, they may find it but get very little from it.Satan is very clever at offering his peace, by play on the feelings of a person they get deluded, but the peace that Jesus Christ offers is perfect and it is only available from Him, it will give you perfect peace and joy.
The "I Will" of not cast out.
The next "I Will" is found in John 6:37
"37 All that the Father giveth Me shall come to Me, and him that cometh to Me I will in no wise cast out."
Jesus continues, He was about to leave the world by dieing on the cross and He said,
"40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in Him may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the Last Day.."
That statement covers all people, whatever is your trouble, your sorrows, your sins, Jesus will not cast you out, nyone who comes to Him.
The "I Will" of confessing to God the Father by Jesus.
Matthew 10:32.
"32 "Whosoever therefore shall confess Me before men, him will I confess also before My Father who is in Heaven."
33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father who is in Heaven. "
Jesus said these words when He is about to be offered by the Jews, His blood given and His death on the cross at Calvery, when He suffered for each of us. Jesus said "that He going to confess that we had been forgiven by His blood to His Father, but He would deny us if we had not." Many people are not able to confess that Jesus was the way of forgiveness, they continue to stagger about in the darkness of the world and Satan. They were probably ashamed or frightened to offer their confess to Jesus that He died for them and that He was the Son of God. Do not be afraid to let your friends or enemies know that you are following Jesus and God.
The "I Will" of giving comfort.
John 14:18
"40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in Him may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the Last Day."
When Christ Jesus suffered death on the cross, He had already planned to keep us near Him, He will come to us and live in our heart by the Holy Spirit. He has now gone up to heaven and sits by God the Father, but He is with every Believer through the Holy Spirit. He will never separate from us until we live in heaven with Him.
The "I Will" of Resurrection.
John 6:40.
"40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me: that every one who seeth the Son and believeth in Him may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the Last Day.""
John 14:47
"47 Verily, verily I say unto you, He that believeth in Me hath everlasting life. "
We have a Saviour who has the ability to protect us from death, Jesus. While on earth He raised up three from the dead, they were Jairus's daughter, the widows son anf Lazareth of Bethany. Most people do not believe this, it is amazing that we find that Jesus did this while on earth, He has full power over death and the grave. Any one who knows Jesus as their Saviour will find that at the end of their life he or she will be raised up into heaven or when He returns for His people at the Rapture, to be with the Lord forever in heaven.
The "I Will" of preaching.
Matthew 4:19
"19 And He said unto them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.""
There are many people who are Christians who want to serve Jesus as preachers. Jesus said"Follow Me and become fishers of men," if you only live as a person who spends all the time when you are preaching about Jesus, then after preaching how much time do you spend "mending your preaching nets," if you spend much time checking your words you could be wasting your time getting no where. So the fact that you should always pull in your preaching nets without checking as you preach could result in you finding many seeking Jesus. |
